Party: Dundee Dance Event

The annual Dundee Dance Event is back for a blinding bank holiday special and the closing party will be held in Fat Sams. Fourteen city centre venues will host more that 80 DJs for a 13-hour musical marathon.

All three rooms on the second level will host the finale – the main room, cocktail bar and VIP room. The VIP will be an open room so no special ticket is required.

The DJs are: Subculture resident Harri, acid house legend Yogi Haughton, Cream legend Paul Bleasdale, Rhumba resident James Bradley and DJ YSL from the Miami Beach Club.

Completing the line-up is Chris Mann, Jonny Kennedy, Andy Raeside, Scott Williams, Neil Lowdon, DJ Zed, Robbie Fraser, Derek McCusker and Barry Miller.

The event is supported by Desperados and Red Bull. Tickets for the closing party are available from from Grouchos, Manifesto, Social and Boudoir in Dundee, and online through Resident Advisor.

Launched back in 1998 to showcase DJ talent not getting the chance to shine locally, the Dundee Dance Event was a first for the city and was the largest event in the UK designed specifically for local, up-and-coming DJs.

The DDE ran for two successful years and provided a platform for the DJs to show what they could do. Many of the DJs from those early events, including DDE promoter Mike McDonald, went on to become residents at pubs and clubs throughout the country and abroad, and made appearances at T In The Park and Homelands festivals.

The event was relaunched in 2011 and was an instant success with a packed bars and a sold out closing party. In 2013, the event grew from 50 DJs and ten venues the previous year, to 60 DJs and 14 venues, and the largest crowd the event had attracted to-date.

Desperados and Red Bull are the sponsors supporting this year’s event.
