Overview:
HKSA – Hong Kong Students’ Association was founded and operated by a group of enthusiastic undergraduate students, with a purpose to provide students with opportunities to learn about the rich culture of Hong Kong and connect with new individuals who also share the same interests. In the past few years, HKSA has grown to be one of the top cultural clubs at UBC with over 400+ members each year. We are unique in that we are not only a social club, but a club that provides career, business, and a charity perspective. This allows students to choose exactly why they want to join UBC. Whether it is to meet friends and have fun, to learn more about career/business opportunities in Asia, to volunteer for events held by the Hong Kong Canada Business Association, or to give back to the community through charity events, HKSA has it all. It is our vision and goal to provide UBC students with the best 4 years of their life through our events, opportunities, and energy! We know the importance of a well-balanced university life and that is exactly what we promise you will gain out of membership at our club. Who are we looking for?
As a student organization that focuses on people, we are looking for the most outgoing, energetic, and motivated individuals who foster a strong team spirit. Your flexibility will play an important role when you work with a diverse team within your department and also when you collaborate with other departments. Finally, we are looking for individuals who will demonstrate leadership and the willingness to learn. We are constantly working closely with our executives to prepare them for the role of becoming a Director in the following year. Then, after a year of leading a team as a Director, you will have the opportunity to lead the club as one of the TOP 6.
