Reverse Buzzards BIO
Reverse Buzzards are a BAND. A pact comprised of Eric Phillippi (writer, singer, guitar) and Jon Morgan (drums). Both come from humble beginnings, Phillippi hails from the eastern tip of Tennessee while Morgan grew up in the small central towns of Alabama. In 2001 their paths would cross attending an art school outside of Nashville. It was there a friendship began and a musical dialect was cultivated.
While Morgan would excel in the photography industry, it was songwriting that became Phillippi’s main creative outlet. In 2014 the duo gave their project the title Reverse Buzzards, a name derived from one of Phillippi’s own works that expresses the idea of searching for life in the day to day doldrums.
Much like Nashville, Tennessee (the city the duo calls home) Reverse Buzzards thrive on theireclectic nature. Their self titled debut album builds a sound that incorporates many genres yet stays true to it’s rock and roll attitude.Phillippi as a writer is cerebral and progressive. When combined with Morgan’s raw energy and technical ability the sound they create is full and translates to a powerful live show. As a team they have a sibling–like camaraderie that is infectious to watch. During performances a nod or smile is shared between the two, which allows the audience in on the joke. However, It's obvious the two are serious about the songs they craft.
Somewhere in an emerging scene in a musical space between melody and power you'll find the Reverse Buzzards with a sound all their own.
