The Flying Duck Presents...

3 great acts from Bristol, 1 great artist from Glasgow + our favourtie new label DJing.

BURL / Wenonoah / Cucina Povera / Autobitch / Domestic Exile Djs

WENONOAH:
Fine flesh pop for abstracted humans. Engrossing songs matched with a beguiling voice plus some excellent movements to top it off. People pipe down to a silence when Rosena stands ready to begin a set. Her album 'Something Funny I Ate' was re-released on Howling Owl last year and is well worth repeated listens, but first check out her rather special videos here:

BURL:
Burl, aka Joanna Pucci, creates massively weighted, eerie, black-cloaked music. Turn the light off, turn up your stereo and try to sit through last years album 'Mona' without feeling like the world is nothing but a rather dark, foreboding place. 'Mona' was released on Simula (run by Wenonoah) and will give you a fine indication of what she musters in front of an audience.

AUTO BITCH:
Auto Bitch are a live proposition only. Katie makes songs up as she goes, usually becoming unhinged, sometimes screaming, sometimes whispering, whilst Kim hammers out curiously infectious beats that only ever build on the weird tension created by their not knowing what the fuck is going to happen next, despite their apparent telepathy. Sometimes annoying, sometimes harsh, never boring and always great!!!

CUCINA POVERA:
Joining the bill with the bristolians is Cucina Povera (translates to Peasant's Kitchen). The Solo Project of Maria Rossi, who you may also know through her previous music outings in Luxos and Gong Bath. Maria makes beatuiful multilayered sound pieces through looping vocal lines underpinned by deep and spacey synth lines. Real beautiful mind music for your body. Cucina Povera first came to light on Huntley's and Palmers second 'Clyde Built' compilation, her track Sokerihumala giving a taste of what's to come from the project. We're thrilled to learn that her debut release is now forthcoming on new local label Domestic Exile.

Domestic Exile:
To top it off, Domestic Exile DJs will be playing tunes before in between and after all the bands.
