The Angels are one of Australia’s most iconic rock bands. With an extensive back catalogue featuring hits such as Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, Shadow Boxer, Take A Long Line, Marseilles, No Secrets and Dogs Are Talking to name a few, the band’s tracks are a high rotation staple on radio stations around the country. Four decades after they formed, The Angels are still rocking as hard as ever, performing sold out shows around Australia and being invited to perform at some highly coveted international gigs.
Forming in Adelaide in the 1970s, the early formation of The Angels went under the guise of The Moonshine Jug and String Band, which featured Rick and John Brewster and their pal, Doc Neeson. This evolved into the Keystone Angels and eventually The Angels, who signed a record deal with AC/DC’s label Alberts, and as they say, the rest is history. The band, which now features Dave Gleeson on vocals, Nick Norton on drums, Sam Brewster on bass and John and Rick on guitars, celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2014, and also released an album of all new material the same year titled Talk The Talk, which garnered them new fans far and wide.
The Angels just keep on getting better each year and it’s no surprise to find that their live shows are now packed with all different generations of fans. There’s no slowing this band down – they just keep rockin’.
