Nicky Jam Official After Party
Nicky Jam was born in Boston, Massachusetts to a Puerto Rican father and a Dominican mother, however he later moved with his family to Barrio Obrero in Puerto Rico when he was six years old.[1] He has been in reggaeton since his youth. The name "Nicky Jam" was given by a homeless to Jam as a form of a joke. At the beginning Nick Rivera didn't like the name but as time went he found use of it. Nicky Jam comes from a low income family and he had to work at a grocery store to help his parents. The work he performed at this grocery store was illegal since he was a minor. During his free time he improvised in front of the grocery store. One day a lady from a music label noticed his talent and signed him to her label to release an album. At the age of eleven he recorded his first album "Distinto a los Demas". Since he was young and had no experience in this career, this album wasn't successful. However the album did gain him recognition in the music industry, and got the attention of some music producers like DJ Joe, DJ Playero, DJ Chiklin,[2]
